The system comes not only in a high inertia version with 400V for applications requiring smooth operation, but also in a 200V version with low inertia motors where high dynamic performance is required. The use of an additional single-turn absolute encoder eliminates the need for a prior reference, as all values are available immediately upon system startup. The position tracking function enables the generation of a virtual multi-turn encoder value from the single-turn encoding and the position value to be stored in the drive. All of this is done during ongoing operations. It speeds up setup as well as reduces restart time when the machine is stopped. The SimoticsS-1FL6 is available in seven motor shaft heights and covers a power output range of 0.05 to 7.0 kilowatts for single-phase and three-phase operation. In addition, the design of the Simotics S-1FL6 high inertia motor has been updated. The connections on the motor side are now angled and the connections on the cable side are standard connections, making the motor design more compact and the connectivity even simpler. The motor is particularly suitable for motion control applications such as positioning and winding.
